This research paper describes the confrontation between vice and virtue by means of an illuminist dialogue realized concretely between the authorial self (I) and the other self (he), as a philosophical strategy based on Socratic maieutics as adopted and applied by the French philosopher Denis Diderot, in the treatise Rameau’s Nephew. Dashi perceives this treatise as having a double discourse, replicative and apologetic, and analyzes convention, paradox, alienation etc in it.
