This article describes and comments on the ideas and fundamental principles of the American philosopher John Rawls, according to whom the supposed conflict between freedom and equality is illusory. This philosophy of economic and political structure leads to the veil of ignorance, revealing the principles that should shape a society of free, equal and moral people.
